Top tips from our pharmacists to help make PrEP a success!
- Ensure that you are educated about the importance of adherence to PrEP (Tenofovir) and set yourself refill reminders.
- Establish a routine and take a PrEP tablet at the same time everyday to keep medication levels constant.
- PrEP (Tenofovir) is best taken with food or just after eating.
- PrEP (Tenofovir) won't stop sexually transmitted infections (STI's), so you should always were condoms, practice safe sex and get tested for HIV and other STI's at least every 3 months.
- Patients should contact their medical practitioner if they notice any side effects of PrEP (Tenofovir) such as abdominal pain and headaches.
